Ways to pray in the current crisis...

Given the dangers of social interaction, even praying and meeting together become difficult. All formal church services are on hold, following a decision made by the Archbishops of Canterbury and York. However, we still believe in the power of prayer to change things and we believe that our relationship with God is the only thing that can bring us peace, protection and purpose during these troubled times. Therefore we need to find ways to pray even in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. Here's how you can:

Holy Week

Holy Week is a very special time in the Christian year and we can mark that in a powerful way, even while staying at home. The Church of England has pubished some resources to help with this. Click here to view them.

Videos will also be uploaded to this website with short thoughts to help us reflect at key moments on Good Friday and Easter Sunday. Click here to view them.

Our Diocese are also providing a number of helpful resources and opportunities to connect during Holy Week. Download this sheet for full details of what they have planned.

Pray at home

We are keen to encourage everyone to pray during these difficult times, and have produced a short booklet which may help you to find ways to do that. Click here to download it. The Church of England also keeps updating its website with resources that help you with this. Click here to view that. Children may also like to colour in these sheets.

As a church we are also keen to support people in prayer, so if you would like us to pray for anything or anyone in particular then please do contact us

Sadly we cannot open the church building for prayer as we initially planned to do, but the place we pray in is not important. It's who we pray to that matters: God cares for us and hears us wherever we are.
